Great Plains Diabetes Research , Inc is a not-for-profit organization that started in 1982 by Richard A. Guthrie, MD, Endocrinologist, Joseph W. Hume, MD, Obstetrician/Gynecologist and Leslie W. Nesmith, MD, Retinologist.  The mission of the organization is the procurement of funds to enable the organization to continue diabetes related research into the causes, methods of treatment, and the resultant complications of diabetes.  Ultimately their goal is the improved treatment or cure of the disease.  Today, they continue raising funds for the cause.  If you would like further information or wish to donate to the organization you may contact them at (316) 685-1913.
